Ivo Saglietti, who passed away on December 2nd at the age of 75, deserves to be known for his photography, his nomadic life, his dedication to the history unfolding in our world, and for what he conveys to us through his images brimming with denunciation, reflection, and poetry. "Ivo Saglietti. The Nomadic Gaze" is an essay on a selection of experiences from a career spanning over forty years: from the beginning of the uprisings in Central America—Chile and Peru—to Haiti, and then the Middle East and Mar Musa in Syria. He worked on assignments such as those for the New York Times Magazine, Time, Der Spiegel, and Newsweek, and collaborated with prestigious photojournalism agencies such as Sipa Press, Stern, and Zeitenspiegel.
With Ivo Saglietti. The Nomadic Gaze The Glass Door Association and its president Michele Ruggiero once again uses a photographic exhibition to give breath to events that belong to our contemporary history, but with the awareness, in this case filled with sadness, that the artist's professional history enters definitively into the Pantheon that gathers the great photojournalists of our country.
The curator Tiziana Bonomo together with Ivo Saglietti have chosen the most significant images that retrace the professional journey from the 80s to 2018. In this circumstance Tiziana Bonomo underlines that: “Ivo Saglietti, a photographer who brings with himé The courage of a reportage photographer and the sweetness of a gaze of perpetual wonder, a spirit free from constraints, a man of few words yet capable of expressing much through his photography. He rarely completes his projects in a few days: he likes to make them last a long time, to delve deeper into them. He often captures the human side of the world's dramas, the most intimate, the most quotidian.He does this by showing us reality as it is: without distractions, without mediation. Amazement and surprise continually accompany the reader of his photographs at the ability of the powerful to generate disorder, chaos, and destruction. Undeniably, disorder infects the landscape, depriving it of life, stripping it of its sensuality, leaving us with a nostalgia for what might have remained.
Moreover, as he observes Michele Ruggiero: “Ivo Saglietti's courage is expressed not only in his search for a black and white that seeks to dispel indifference from our consciences, but in the love he expresses for the least fortunate, who are also the weakest.”

The images on display, 53 black and white photographs, are accompanied by some texts by Ivo Saglietti, Paolo Rumiz, Tiziana Bonomo, Federico Montaldo taken from the book “Rivoluzioni” (Sanpino Edizioni) and the book “Lo sguardo inquieto” (Postcart Edizioni).
