The photography exhibition documents the tragedy of wars fought in the name of faith. Curated by photojournalists Paolo Siccardi and Roberto Travan, the project draws on a selection of one hundred and ten photographs taken in the Balkans, the Caucasus, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, transformed into a narrative of what remains of God in the places where people fight, suffer, and die.
Faith thus becomes the common thread that reveals conflicts often unknown because they remain out of the news spotlight. The photographic testimonies collected in the trenches, in churches, mosques, and destroyed synagogues, among impoverished populations and fleeing refugees, also dramatically testify to the subtle line that, more than ever in war, separates life from death.
The exhibition is divided into four macro geographical areas: the Balkans, Europe and the Caucasus, the Middle East and Africa.
The exhibition is organized by the National Museum of Risorgimento In collaboration with the Piedmont Regional Council and with the support of Fujifilm Italia.
From March 1 to May 1, 2018; extended to September 9, 2018.
