Fund description
The collection preserves documents relating to Giuseppe Fontana's military career, including appointment decrees, reports, and service dispatches. In particular, they document the period of the fight against banditry in the Benevento and Caserta areas between 1863 and 1865, the revolt of some non-commissioned officers from Pavia and Piacenza in March 1870, and his activity as a member of the Infantry and Cavalry Arms Committee in 1875.
