The collection contains the correspondence and documentation of several members of the Bottone family of San Giuseppe and of several families connected to them. A significant portion contains the papers of the Bottone family from 1614 to 1829, in particular, the correspondence and patents of appointment relating to several members of the family. Another significant portion of the collection (1690-1814) contains the papers relating to the Mangarda counts and the Mangarda farm in Volpiano. A small portion contains the documentation relating to Filippo Bottone, the first Count Bottone of San Giuseppe, intendant of Asti in 1777 and intendant of Tortona in 1783, and the documentation of his son.
