Fund description
The collection contains the correspondence of Bartolomeo Casalis (1825-1903), lawyer and politician, superintendent and then prefect and sub-prefect in various cities; senator from 15 February 1880. The majority of the collection consists of correspondence with the founders of the “Gazzetta del Popolo” Alessandro Borella, Giovanni Battista Bottero, Felice Govean and with the journalist, collaborator of the “Gazzetta” Carlo Pisani. A small portion of the collection contains correspondence relating to his position as extraordinary government commissioner in Cervinara, in the province of Avellino, in December 1860.
