Sunday, July 19th at 11:30 a.m., the National Museum of Risorgimento Italian hosts Opera in a few words, an appointment of the 2026 Artistic Season of the Contrametric Ensemble Soloists, inserted in the program “Under the Porticoes of the Risorgimento!".
Opera in Poche Parole was created with the aim of introducing new audiences to classical music and opera, offering an accessible, engaging, and evocative listening experience. Through the dialogue between words and music, audiences are guided to discover the great works of the repertoire, enabling them to understand the plot, characters, and emotions even without prior opera experience.
In this edition dedicated to Giacomo Puccini's Tosca, Gabriele Colombo takes on a dual role: narrator and performer. Through his narration, he guides the audience through the key moments of the story, illuminating the historical context, dramatic conflicts, and character development. As oboe and cor anglais soloist, he lends voice to the opera's most intense and evocative passages in a special chamber music transcription for oboe/cor anglais and string quartet.
